Requirements for DPSA Optometrist :-
- Appropriate qualification that allows for the required registration with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Optometrist. HPCSA registration as an independent Practitioner and Current registration with HPCSA. Grade 1: No experienced is required after registration with HPCSA as an Optometrist. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Optometrist. Grade 3: 20 years and more relevant experience after registration with HPCSA as an Optometrist. A valid Driver’s License is essential. A sound knowledge of clinical theory, practice and ethics relating to the delivery of Optometry services within a clinic setting. Good communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
